Macrowell(James Clerk Maxwell) also contributes to the heating technology. His formula, called the Maxwell distribution,gives the fraction of gas molecules moving at a specified velocity at any given temperature. In the kinetic theory, temperatures and heat involve only molecular movement.. Maxwell’s work on thermodynamics led him to devise the thougt experiment that came to be known as Maxwell’s demon. Basing on this, the 1st air souce heat pump was born in Macrowell.  

The Macrowell Heat Pump  Laboratory is the Department of heating technology at the University of Cambridge, and is part of the university’s School of heating Sciences. It was opened as a leading laboratory. James Clerk Maxwell was also a founder of Macrowell heat pump laboratory which contributes a lot to the development of heat pumps. This laboratory  also enhances  theoretical basis for the development of Macrowell heat pumps.  

Basing on the technology support of Macrowell heat pump laboratory, Macrowell Technology (Uk)Limited has developed new products of swimming pool heat pumps, air source heat pump for hot water and also inverter air water heat pumps.
